Dr Heather Ryan graduated from Oxford University in 2008, gained her medical degree from the University of London in 2011, and qualified as a GP in 2017. She has a breadth of experience, including three years as a GP partner, experience of working as a GP in a secure mental health unit, and time spent as a freelance Out of Hours GP.
Heather grew up locally; she lived in Aintree as a child, and studied for her A levels at KGV College in Southport.
Heather is a Nationally Elected Member of RCGP Council. She is also involved in teaching trainee GPs, which keeps her up to date!
Heather lives in Formby with her husband and co-director John and their two young children. In her free time she enjoys cooking, writing, and scouring Vinted and charity shops for bargains! She is an avid user of social media and enjoys networking with other doctors online.
Dr John Cosgrove FRCGP

Dr John Cosgrove has been a GP since 2004. He has been a partner of a 10 site practice and of a single site practice; a salaried GP in rural Oxfordshire for many years; a locum in a wide variety of practices; and clinical director of a walk-in centre. He graduated from Guy’s & St. Thomas’ Hospitals in 2000.
As a GP, John enjoys treating the whole range of health issues. Areas of clinical interest include gastroenterology, mental health, and minimising medicalisation. John offers a couple of additional services at the practice: he runs a weight management service, and he performs joint injections.
He has been a GP trainer, and was a member of RCGP Council for 6 years.
John lives in Formby with his wife and co-director Heather and family. When he can prise the children away from the TV he enjoys family walks on our magnificent beach! He is a keen choral singer and a lapsed glider pilot.
